The best Copenhagen hotels with sauna for all budgets

Last Updated on August 5, 2026 by Ioana

If you’re looking for Copenhagen hotels with sauna, you’re in luck. Copenhagen has a surprisingly good selection of hotels where you can combine sightseeing with a little wellness time. Anything from affordable 4-star hotels with full spa facilities to luxurious boutique hotels with private sauna experiences.

I especially like having access to a sauna when traveling somewhere like Copenhagen. You can spend the day walking around the city, exploring colorful neighborhoods and museums, then come back to the hotel and warm up in a sauna or relax in a pool.

I’ve narrowed this list down to just five hotels so you don’t have to compare dozens of properties. Whether you want a budget-friendly hotel with sauna access, a central spa hotel, or a truly luxurious wellness experience, these are my top picks. This post contains affiliate links. AC Hotel by Marriott Bella Sky Copenhagen: Best for Value

If you want a modern hotel with a proper wellness area without paying luxury hotel prices, AC Hotel Bella Sky Copenhagen is my top pick.

The building of AC Hotel Bella Sky Copenhagen

This is also where I stayed during my Copenhagen trip.

The hotel is huge and very modern, with two distinctive towers that have become part of Copenhagen’s contemporary architecture.

I stayed in Tower 2 and had to switch elevators on the first floor to reach the rooms in that tower.

The best surprise was that the staff upgraded me for free, without me asking, to a corner suite with a view. They were incredibly friendly throughout my stay.

My room wasn’t huge, but it had the right amount of space and didn’t feel cramped. The bathroom was also a comfortable size, and I liked that the toiletries were from Greek brand Korres.

The sauna and spa

The hotel’s Bella Sky Spa is where this property really stands out.

The spa currently has heated pools, a cold-water plunge pool, rain showers, a steam bath, and a sauna.

There’s also a fitness center if you want to combine your wellness time with a workout. Spa access is an additional fee, so make sure you factor that into your budget.

The spa also offers Saunagus, a Nordic sauna experience where water infused with essential oils is poured over the hot sauna stones, creating fragrant steam.

The experience includes multiple sauna rounds with breaks for cooling down.

What I liked about staying here

The location isn’t in the heart of Copenhagen, but this wasn’t a problem for me.

Bella Center metro station is about a five-minutes’ walk away, and you can get into central Copenhagen quickly.

There’s also a Netto supermarket nearby, along with coffee shops, a bakery, and several restaurants. I ate at Momo Burger and Rangoli, an Indian restaurant, and enjoyed both.

If you want a more central hotel, check out my guide on the best areas to stay in Copenhagen.

Best for: Travelers who want a modern 4-star hotel, sauna, pool, and easy metro access without paying central Copenhagen luxury hotel prices.

Scandic Spectrum: Best for a Full Spa Experience

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ • 8.2/10 (8,943 reviews)
💲 Mid-range • 👉 Check current prices here

If the wellness facilities are one of the main reasons you’re booking a hotel with a sauna, I’d look at Scandic Spectrum.

This 4-star hotel is in central Copenhagen, right near the water, so you get easy access to the city center while still having a dedicated place to escape the crowds.

The sauna and wellness area

Spectrum Wellness is much more than a basic hotel sauna.

The wellness area includes a 25-meter heated indoor swimming pool, Finnish sauna, steam bath, relaxation room, foot baths, and experience showers.

You can also book spa treatments including massage therapy, body scrubs, facials, and body wraps.

The traditional Nordic sauna is kept between approximately 76–83°C, while the steam bath has 100% humidity.

If you want something more elaborate than simply sitting in a sauna, the hotel also runs SaunaGus sessions during part of the year.

These combine heat, steam, and essential oils for a more immersive wellness experience.

One thing to know: spa access isn’t automatically included with your room. Hotel guests currently pay separately for wellness access, and reservations are required.

The 4-star Scandic Spectrum Copenhagen hotel is best for: Travelers who want the most complete spa and sauna facilities without moving all the way into 5-star hotel prices.

Manon Les Suites: Best for a Unique Hotel

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ • 8.7/10 (1,931 reviews)
💲 Luxury • 👉 Check current prices here

If you want a hotel that feels like an experience in itself, Manon Les Suites is one of the most unique hotels in Copenhagen.

It’s a 5-star hotel in central Copenhagen with a Bali-inspired design, and the centerpiece is the spectacular Junglefish Pool.

It’s the kind of place you’ll probably recognize immediately from photos.

The hotel is within walking distance of the city centre, Copenhagen Lakes, Tivoli Gardens, while Forum Metro Station and Vesterport train station are also within walking distance.

The sauna and wellness facilities

Manon Les Suites has a rooftop spa with a traditional sauna, aromatic steam bath, and cold-water bucket bath.

You can also use the hotel’s indoor Junglefish Pool, which is surrounded by lush greenery and has a completely different atmosphere from a typical hotel pool. Hotel guests have free access to the pool during their stay.

If you’d rather have a treatment than spend time in the sauna, massages can also be arranged in your room.

The hotel also has an extensive fitness area, so it’s a particularly good option if you want to combine a wellness experience with exercise.

Best for: Couples, design lovers, and anyone who wants a memorable hotel rather than a standard chain property.

Nimb Hotel: Best for Luxury

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ • 9.2/10 (134 reviews)
💲 Luxury • 👉 Check current prices here

If budget isn’t a concern and you want one of the most luxurious hotel wellness experiences in Copenhagen, look at Nimb Hotel.

This 5-star hotel is located directly beside Tivoli Gardens, putting you in the heart of Copenhagen and within easy reach of Copenhagen’s main attractions.

But you don’t have to leave the hotel to have a relaxing afternoon.

Nimb Wellness

Nimb has a 300-square-meter wellness area with a hammam and steam area, changing rooms, relaxation area, treatments, and massages.

Hotel guests have access to the wellness facilities, and you can also book treatments if you want to make your stay more of a full-service spa experience.

There’s also Nimb Roof, where you can swim in the outdoor pool while looking out over Copenhagen and Tivoli Gardens.

The wellness area goes beyond a simple sauna visit, too. Nimb offers a lavender salt scrub with essential oils in the hammam, as well as a fitness studio equipped with Technogym and TRX equipment.

And because you’re staying at Nimb, you get the combination of a luxury hotel, spa, restaurants, and Tivoli Gardens right outside your door.

Best for: A luxury hotel, special occasion, or anyone who wants a complete high-end wellness experience in the heart of Copenhagen.

THE KRANE: Best for a Private Wellness Experience

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ • 8.7/10 (12 reviews)
💲 Mid-range • 👉 Check current prices here

If you’re looking for something completely different, THE KRANE is the ultimate splurge.

This isn’t a traditional hotel in the sense of a large building with hundreds of rooms. THE KRANE occupies a converted industrial coal crane in Copenhagen’s Nordhavn harbor and offers an extremely private stay.

In fact, the hotel describes the experience as a private retreat where you’re the only guests.

The setting is unlike anything else on this list.

You’ll be right beside the water in a historic industrial part of Copenhagen that has been transformed into one of the city’s more unusual luxury destinations.

The sauna and spa

Your stay includes access to the sauna club, and you can also add private access to the hotel’s Amazing Krane Spa.

There’s also the option to take a dip in the harbor, making this a particularly memorable choice if you enjoy the Nordic tradition of alternating heat and cold water.

The property also has a sun terrace, open-air bath, sauna, and jacuzzi.

This isn’t the hotel I’d choose if your priority is being within a short walk of every attraction in central Copenhagen. You’re paying for the unique setting, privacy, and experience.

If you need help planning your trip, check out my Copenhagen 2-day itinerary for ideas.

Best for: A once-in-a-lifetime stay, romantic getaway, or travelers who want privacy and a truly unusual Scandinavian wellness experience.
