Hotels near Rathausplatz Christmas market
The Rathausplatz Christmas market is the one in front of the city hall. It’s one of the best Christmas markets in Vienna and probably the most popular one.
I used to go here almost every year as a kid when my aunt was living in Vienna and we would spend the Christmas holidays with her.
And I also explored it as an adult when I visited my friend who lives in Vienna. I loved it as a kid and I love it as an adult too.

Radisson Blu Style Hotel Vienna
Radisson Blu Style Hotel is located in the city center of Vienna, very close to the State Opera House, St. Stephen’s cathedral, and the Golden Quarter. You will also be very close to the XMas market in front of the city hall.
The building was converted from a bank to a stylish boutique hotel. It has a restaurant on-site that serves both Austrian and international dishes.
There is also a fitness center and a wellness area with saunas. This hotel is also verified sustainable on Hotel Sustainability Basics.

ARTIST Boutique Hotel
ARTIST Boutique Hotel is a 4-star hotel located in Rathausplatz, right behind the Vienna city hall. All rooms are decorated with handpicked materials and custom furniture.
The hotel also has a gallery of the artists that had an impact on Vienna. Their mission is to create an immersive experience for guests that centered around art and culture.
Even though it’s a small hotel, they do have a fitness room. And their breakfast is served until 1pm. So if you want to sleep in after a late night of exploring Vienna’s Christmas markets you can do that and not worry about missing breakfast.

Hotels near Schönbrunn Palace Christmas market
Schönbrunn was my favorite place in Vienna as a kid. I was obsessed with Princess Sissi. It also hosts a market during the Christmas season, right in front of the palace.
It has lots of market stalls where you can buy delicious food or shop for a gift. Make sure to get some of the roasted nuts here. They smell incredible and are so good!

Austria Trend Parkhotel Schönbrunn
Austria Trend Parkhotel Schönbrunn is a 4-star hotel located located in the restored former guest house of Emperor Franz Joseph I. Numerous works by Johann Strauss were premiered here, so it’s a hotel with a lot of history.
At the same time, many of Emperor Franz Joseph’s guests stayed in this hotel throughout the years, including Thomas Edison in 1911. How cool that you can stay inside one of these historical buildings today!
The rooms are spacious and decorated in an elegant style. There is a breakfast buffet each morning serving local Austrian food.
While the hotel does not have a fitness center, guests can use the wellness and fitness area in the adjacent Austria Trend Hotel Maximilian.

Hotels near Belvedere Christmas market
The Belvedere Christmas market is one of the smaller markets in Vienna. However, it’s an excellent choice if you want to experience the magical Christmas markets of Europe with less tourists.
It’s set in the perfect location since you’ll have the palace as your backdrop.
Andaz Vienna
Andaz Vienna is a 5-star luxury hotel located close to Belvedere Palace. This could be a great base if you want to visit the Christmas market there. The design of the hotel is modern and inspired by the history and culture of Vienna.
There are several dining options on-site, including a rooftop bar with panoramic views over the city. The rooms are spacious and stylish. And you’ll also have access to a wellness area with saunas and a fitness center.
What I really like about Andaz hotels is how they combine luxury with a warm, inviting atmosphere, so you feel comfortable right away.
Austria Trend Hotel Savoyen Vienna
Austria Trend Hotel Savoyen Vienna is another excellent option near Belvedere. It’s located inside a historic building that used to be a former printing house of the Imperial Court. Today, it’s a modern 4-star superior hotel with elegant rooms and suites.
The hotel also has a beautiful atrium, two restaurants, and a fitness and wellness area. It’s big, but still very welcoming, and the location makes it easy to explore not only the Christmas market at Belvedere but also the rest of central Vienna.

Hotels near Am Hof Christmas market
Am Hof is a large central square in Vienna that also hosts one of the traditional Christmas markets in the city. Due to its central location you can both explore the winter market and tourist attractions within walking distance, such as the Hofburg Palace.
Park Hyatt Vienna
Park Hyatt Vienna is housed in a former bank building in Am Hof square, so you’re staying in a place with a lot of character and history. The interiors are absolutely stunning, with marble, high ceilings, and elegant furnishings.
There’s also a spa with an indoor pool and a fitness center. The hotel also has several dining options, including a restaurant that serves traditional Austrian dishes with a modern twist.
And the fact that it’s right on Am Hof square means you just have to step outside to be at the Christmas market.
Steigenberger Hotel Herrenhof
Steigenberger Hotel Herrenhof is just a few minutes’ walk from Am Hof square and Hofburg Palace. It’s a 5-star hotel with a perfect mix of tradition and modern comfort.
The building itself dates back to the 18th century, but the interiors are contemporary and stylish.
Guests have access to a spa and fitness center, and the breakfast buffet is known to be excellent. I love that you can stay so close to both the Christmas market and many of Vienna’s main sights, making it ideal if you want to explore on foot.

Hotels near Art Advent Market
This market is more focused on arts and crafts. So you’ll be able to browse the works of local artisans here. At the same time, the Art Advent is the only market in the whole of Austria that sells only fully certified organic food at its stalls.
Hotel Sacher
Hotel Sacher is one of the most famous hotels in Vienna, right across from the State Opera. Staying here is like stepping into history, with its luxurious interiors, chandeliers, and antique furnishings.
It’s a true Viennese institution. So special!
Of course, you can’t miss tasting the Original Sacher-Torte while you’re here. The hotel also has a spa, fitness center, and several restaurants and bars. From here, it’s just a short walk to the Art Advent Market and many of the city’s main attractions.

Grand Hotel Wien
Grand Hotel Wien is another iconic luxury hotel in Vienna, located on the famous Ringstraße boulevard. The building has a long history and has hosted many notable guests over the years.
The rooms are elegant and classic, and the hotel offers several fine-dining restaurants, including one with Michelin stars.
There’s also a spa and wellness area. Its location makes it very easy to walk to the Art Advent Market, as well as explore the city center.
Hotels near Christmas Village on the University Campus
There is a Christmas market on the campus of University of Vienna. It offers a cozy atmosphere with plenty of market stalls and it also has an ice-skating rink.
The Harmonie Vienna
The Harmonie Vienna is a boutique hotel located in the 9th district, not far from the University of Vienna campus.
This means you’ll be close to the Christmas Village on the University Campus, which has a cozy and relaxed vibe compared to some of the larger markets.
The hotel itself has a unique concept: it’s inspired by dance and art, with many little design details that reflect this theme. Rooms are modern and comfortable, and breakfast is made with organic, locally sourced products.
It’s a smaller hotel, so it feels more personal, and the location makes it perfect if you want to enjoy a quieter stay while still being close to the city center.
