Madrid is a fantastic city to visit. It has good food, great people and plenty of attractions to explore, such as the Prado Museum, Puerta del Sol, and the Royal Palace. Staying at a hotel with an indoor swimming pool is a great option no matter which season you visit. In this blog post I’ll share my ultimate list of of Madrid hotels with indoor pool to help you pick the best option for you. This post contains affiliate links. Palacio Tirso de Molina

Palacio Tirso de Molina is a luxury aparthotel located in the heart of the city. It is very close to both Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol.

​There are 17 apartments in the building and they all have modern amenities and fully equipped kitchens.

The aparthotel has an indoor pool that is heated, so guests can use it year-round. The pool is open to guests of all ages and access is free.

Besides the pool, Palacio Tirso de Molina also offers a sauna, steam room, heated whirlpool, a fitness suite, and other spa facilities.

Staying here is a great choice if you want to be in the city center and want a hotel with plenty of wellness amenities.

Four Seasons Hotel Madrid

Four Seasons Madrid is a 5-star hotel located in a restored 19th century building in the very heart of Madrid. Puerta del Sol is about a 5-minute walk from the hotel.

The hotel has Spain’s largest urban spa, spanning 1,400 squared meters (about 15,000 sq ft) across four floors. It has an impressive 14 meter indoor heated pool with skylight and glass walls. It’s located on the 8th floor, so you can also enjoy panoramic views of Madrid.

This design makes you feel like you’re swimming outside, despite it being an indoor pool. During the warm summer days, the floor-to-ceiling windows can open. Thus, the pool transforms into an outdoor pool.

The spa was awarded Five Stars by the Forbes Travel Guide for its services and quality. It you want the ultimate pampering experience in a central location in Madrid, the Four Seasons is the perfect place for that.

Mandarin Oriental Ritz

Mandarin Oriental Ritz Madrid is a 5-star luxury hotel. It is located directly across the street from the Prado Museum. It is also close to El Retiro Park.

Fun fact: it originally opened in 1910 because King Alfonso XIII envisioned a regal hotel to match the other great Ritz hotels of Europe.

The hotel has multiple restaurants and cafe on site, including a 2 Michelin star restaurant called Deessa.

One of the impressive amenities it offers is the fitness and wellness center. It also includes a heated indoor swimming pool beneath a canopy of lights that are meant to resemble Madrid’s starry sky. The pool hours are 6:30am – 9pm.

The spa area also has a steam room, a circuit of sensation shower, a Vitality Pool area, and multiple private treatment rooms.

It’s one of the best hotels in Madrid, so you can’t go wrong if you choose to stay here.

Pestana Plaza Mayor

Pestana Plaza Mayor is a 4-star hotel located right in Plaza Mayor.

The hotel has an indoor pool in the basement. It is located in former coal cellars with exposed brick walls and original arches that exude historic ambiance and intimacy.

The pool hours are 7am – 11pm, but children under 18 can access it only until 4pm.

If you visit during the summer season you can also take advantage of their seasonal outdoor pool on the rooftop of the hotel.

The hotel also has fitness center, a dry sauna, and massage rooms.

It’s a great place to stay at due to its great location and the fact that it has both an indoor and an outdoor swimming pool.

Brach Madrid – Evok Collection

Brach Madrid – Evok Collection is a 5-star hotel located right on Gran Via. So it’s surrounded by shops, cafes, and restaurants, and it’s close to the Royal Palace.

The hotel is in a 7-floor building that was once home to Victor Hugo and some photojournalist legends.

The hotel has a 20 meters indoor pool, which is the central feature of the wellness area. The spa also offers an ice bath, an infrared sauna, a steam room and more.

Brach Madrid holds LEED Platinum and Green Globe certifications, reflecting their commitment toward environmental stewardship.

Urso Hotel & Spa, a Small Luxury Hotel of the World

The 5-star Urso Hotel is located in a neoclassical building dating from the early 20th century between Chueca, Tribunal, and Chamberi neighborhoods.

At the heart of its wellness offerings lies a beautifully designed indoor water area. This area features a lap pool, a steam room infused with eucalyptus, as well as a relaxation zone.

The water area operates daily. From Sunday–Thursday the hours are 9:00–21:00, while on Friday and Saturday the hours are 9:00–22:00. Access requires a reservation.

Access to the water area is complimentary for guests staying in Deluxe Palace View rooms and superior categories. However, other guests may need to pay or book separately.

Family-friendly access is provided. Children under 14 are permitted from 10:00–11:00 and 15:00–16:00, but only under adult supervision.

Melia Madrid Princesa Hotel

Melia Madrid Princesa is a 5-star hotel located a short walk away from Plaza Espana, Gran Via, and the Royal Palace.

Their Wellness Centre is exclusive to guests aged 12 and over. At the same time, teenagers aged 12–18 may only enter when accompanied by an adult during 11am-2pm. 

Proper swimming attire such as caps and flip-flops is required. Entrance requires advance reservation to make sure guests have a relaxing experience at the pool area.

The spa also offers 2 jacuzzis (one hot and one cold), spa treatments, a Finnish sauna, and a Turkish bath.

Some reviews point out that certain rooms could feel dated or carry noise issues. So it might not be the best choice overall.

El Autor Hotel Madrid, Autograph Collection

El Autor Hotel Madrid, Autograph Collection is a luxury hotel located in Barrio de las Letras, Madrid’s Literary Quarter, where the city’s authors once used to live.

The hotel’s renovated 19th century building preserves its century-old elevator and original wood staircase. Thus, it offers a nice blend of history and contemporary comforts.

It is a boutique hotel, so it has a lower number of rooms available compared to other hotels in Madrid. 

The hotel has an indoor pool, but it is temporarily closed. So if you plan on staying here during 2025 be mindful of this.

Barcelo Torre de Madrid

The Barcelo Torre de Madrid is located on the first 9 floors of the iconic Torre de Madrid Skyscraper in Plaza de Espana. This was once one of the tallest buildings in Europe. It overlooks Gran Vía and it is about a 10 minutes’ walk to the Royal Palace.

The hotel has an indoor heated pool located on the 8th floor. The wellness area also includes a sauna, treatment rooms, and a gym, along with an outdoor terrace with loungers.

The indoor pool and spa received mixed feedback in online reviews due to the compact size and limited availability. 

If you value location and proximity to attraction, Barcelo Torre de Madrid is a great hotel. But if you want to have a premium pool experience, maybe choose a different hotel.
